Renowned wine critic and Hong Kong lover James Suckling has announced the reopening of his James Suckling Wine Central concept at a new wine bar in the ’hood.

On Shin Hing Street, the eight-year-old wine palace has downsized both in size – just the right space for a cosy glass – and length of the wine list. It is a more intimate spot to enjoy both wine by the glass or bottle and snacks.

More than 350 wines of Old and New World origin are on offer at the new James Suckling Wine Central, with a cheese selection, starters, mains, simple plates, and desserts to pair, including the beef tartare with potato chips (HKD138), marinated olives (HKD80), and grilled cheese sandwich (HKD168)

According to James Suckling, “We see our wine bar as an extension of our home in Hong Kong, and we look forward to sharing a glass with everyone who enjoys wine.

The list has about 350 wines – all bottles we like to drink ourselves. Nothing complicated. Just good wine, good food, and good company.”
