The Daily Tot will be closing on Dec. 2 after five years operating in SoHo serving a taste of Cuban and Caribbean cocktail culture.

The rum-specialty bar celebrated an age-old tradition of sailors receiving their “daily tot” of rum. For Hong Kong, the cocktail bar focussed on all things rum and rum-based cocktails, a rarity in the city’s drinking scene.

The cocktail bar earned a place on the global Top 500 Bars list for three consecutive years from 2022.

“We are incredibly proud of the legacy The Daily Tot has built over the last five years. Opening during COVID was a challenge, but the support we received from Hong Kong was phenomenal,” Singular Concepts CEO David Sit shared in a press release on Nov. 17.

“While the rising costs in the city have made it impossible to continue in our current home, this is not a ‘goodbye’ forever. We hold onto the concept and the spirit of The Daily Tot and hope to be back in the near future.”

The Daily Tot will be hosting a two-day farewell party on Nov. 28-29 from 8PM till late with DJ Minou for the final Rum & Riddim party on Nov. 29.
