What better way to celebrate the Indian festival of lights than with a feast full of colourful spices. From 7–10 November 2018, the bustling ambience of Chaiwala will get even more lively with the addition of twinkling fairy lights, floating candles and a line-up of live performances.
A special menu for Diwali ($480/person) featuring nine unique dishes the likes of pani puri with jal-jeera, subz potli samosa, tandoori lamb, chicken tikka and spicy Kerala fish curry will give diners’ taste buds plenty to celebrate.
With the biggest celebration set to happen on Saturday, 10 November, Chef Balaji Balachander (known affectionately as Bala) has put together a Diwali dinner party menu ($580/person) composed of 10 celebratory dishes. Expect classics like bhel puri, “Bombay bun” with minced lamb, Old Delhi butter chickn and Kerala-style Malabar scallops.
To further heighten the party atmosphere, there’s a free-flow package of wine, beer, Prosecco and house spirits ($240/person). Not to be outshone by the savouries, scrumptious desserts like doughnuts dipped in mint syrup and the signature Chaiwala carrot cake with rum frosting will cap off the feast.
