Founded by a mother-and-son duo, Baking Maniac serves an incredible selection of sleekly designed buttercream and naked cakes, featuring unique flavours such as pink lemonade and caramel popcorn. The Good Cake
Do good by ordering cakes from The Good Cake. Their mission is to eradicate poverty in Hong Kong by donating a portion of their proceeds to purchasing rice for the elderly; they have donated over 1,000kg of rice since July 2018. The Good Cake only started selling whole cakes in May 2020, so the flavour selection is still on the smaller side. Currently, they have brown butter milk tea, banana chocolate and blueberry pink lemonade on offer, but they release a new flavour each month, so keep your eyes peeled! They also offer gorgeous tailored dessert tables that include goodies from cookies to cakes.

The Nest Bakery
A social enterprise founded by The Nesbitt Centre, a not-for-profit organisation that supports individuals with learning disabilities, The Nest Bakery offers a wide range of mouth-watering sweets thanks to a talented team of empowered individuals with guidance from their head chef. Custom-made cakes (six layers!) are available, along with beautiful classics like carrot cake and New York cheesecake. Gluten-free foodies can also enjoy their gluten-free cheesecake and chocolate cake. Every purchase you make is a socially conscious decision that gives back to the Hong Kong community.

Butter Cake Shop
If you’re looking for big and bold flavours, this is the right place for you. Butter Cake Shop is owned by Black Sheep Restaurants, so you know the quality is assured. The menu has an array of indulgent classics such as triple chocolate and coconut cake. They also have a “Butter Babies” collection of smaller cakes and even a a doggie cake so that your pup won’t miss out! Delivery service is available – you can even have the cake delivered to your table if you choose to celebrate at a Black Sheep restaurant, saving on the cake-cutting fee too.

Tai Tai Pie Pies
If you love Tai Tai Pie Pies as much as we do, you’ll be no stranger to their excellent sweet and savoury pies. While you could certainly opt for a sweet celebration pie, their cakes have won over the hearts of many. The adorably named Not For Rabbits carrot cake is their top seller and their Velvety red velvet cake is a classic. They’ve also re-introduced the Coconut Decadence Sherry cake in a 6-layer version! Considering the high quality ingredients, these cakes are some of the most affordable around.

Vive Cake Boutique
If we had to use one word to describe Vive Cake Boutique, it would be classy. Every cake is elegantly crafted and a masterpiece of its own. We especially like their chiffon cakes, which have a lighter bite with an impressive depth of flavours; the Be Zesty chiffon cake is built on a lemon poppy seed cake base, topped with Japanese yuzu custard, sprinkled with almond meringue and decorated beautifully with fresh flowers and citrus. Their signature uni-cone cakes, which resemble a melting inverted ice-cream cone, would definitely impress at any party. They are also happy to produce customised cakes that are equally showstopping.

As the name suggests, The Mochiffon Cake creates fluffy chiffon cakes layered with chewy mochi. We particularly like the creative range of flavour combinations; an example is the Baileys Earl Grey flavour, which is comprised of an Earl Grey chiffon cake with mochi layers, Baileys whipped cream, Baileys Earl Grey lava filling and a dark chocolate Earl Grey fudge brownie base. Phoenix Sweets
Wondering where you can get your hands on these Insta-trending cakes? Phoenix Sweets offers both unicorn cakes and amethyst cakes. The scrumptious flavours include cookies and cream and rose Earl Grey. Most of the cakes have a mini version that serves four people – perfect for small families in Hong Kong. By using butter cake instead of sponge cake as the base, these cakes are more substantial and aromatic than their counterparts around town.

Little Miss Cakey

These gorgeous cakes are sure to make their way to any girl’s heart! Little Miss Cakey rose to fame when they created the first-ever illuminating moon cake and glass cube cake. The glass cube cake is fully edible, and the colourful chocolate balls inside the cube are stuffed with hazelnut spread and sponge cake. With the moon cake, the moon itself isn’t edible, but you can engrave words on it and keep it as a token.

You’re probably familiar with the awesome cookies baked up by Cookie DPT, but did you know they make giant cookies too? Double the size, double the happiness, perfect for the cookie lover in your life! We tried them and think they resemble mooncakes. Cookie DPT’s mouth-watering signature flavours include chocolate chip, red velvet and brownie filled, and they have some rather innovative seasonal and limited-edition flavours too (for instance, they brought back salted caramel apple pie for the 4th of July).
