Dubbed “Silver Screen Sips”, this new cocktail series at Dada Bar + Lounge, The Luxe Manor’s whimsical bar celebrating the Dada art movement, features a selection of drinks inspired by the classic Hong Kong film scene, available till May 31.

To wet your whistle, go for Lighthouse (HKD128), a tipple bringing to life the edge-of-the-world lighthouse depicted in the iconic 1997 Wong Kar-wai romantic drama Happy Together. This drink blends whisky with pu’er tea, peach purée, and lime juice, garnished cheekily with a cinnamon stick substituting for a cigarette.

Another fun option is Cane Crash (HKD128), emblematic of a popular Hong Kong cinema snack of the past: hot sugar cane wrapped in a paper bag. Think of this drink as the 852’s version of the mojito, made with rum, sugar cane, mint, lime, and soda.

Along for this trip down memory lane are tempting locally inspired bar bites that include honey BBQ pork skewers (HKD158) and Hong Kong egg waffles with peanut butter and Madagascar vanilla sauce (HKD138). Or order a cocktail-plus-snack combo (HKD238) to save yourself some bucks.
