For those who prefer their drinks without alcohol or are floating around the Tsuen Wan or Kwai Chung areas, a visit to Athena is a must to explore the craft behind Hong Kong’s only mocktail bar.
Bartender and owner Zero delivers on fruit-based mocktails crafted and mixed with the same attention to detail as standard cocktails. Working for more than a decade at bars around Hong Kong, Zero opened Athena at Kwai Chung Plaza in April 2023 to shake up new tipples for the city.
The drinks menu at Athena holds 20 mocktails, including Refresh Juice (HKD38), pairing up mint, kaffir lime, sweet-and-sour mix, lemon juice, and soda, Popping Coffee (HKD46) with espresso, liquid and dark chocolate, milk, and whipped cream, and Ber Ber Berries (HKD39), featuring fresh mulberry, sweet-and-sour mix, and homemade fruit soda.
Zero mixes his mocktails the same way in which his cocktails are created, with precise measuring, garnishes, stirring spoons, and attention to using the correct ice and serving glasses.
The mocktails at Athena can be enjoyed daily from 12PM till 10PM, with the closest MTR station being Kwai Fong to connect directly to Zero’s bar.
