This year’s Diwali festivities have taken a turn to the delectable with news of a special tasting menu crafted by chef Manav Tuli at Indian superstar Leela, the Foodie Forks 2024 Best New Restaurant recipient, in honour of the Hindu Festival of Lights.

The Diwali tasting menu (HKD1,188 pp) is on board for dinner on Nov. 1. The menu of festive dishes takes diners on a flavourful journey across India, ranging from a starter of mussels arikkadukka, a spicy stuffed mussel dish from the Malabar Coast, to shalgam gosht, a Kashmiri lamb and turnip curry.

À-la-carte Diwali dinner specials are available from Nov. 1 till Nov. 3. Must-orders for us are the sumptuous chaat platter (HKD228 for 2) spotlighting three spice-rich chaats (sweet potato, tomato, and celeriac) and the duck jardaloo (HKD378), a twist on a Parsi speciality featuring Barbary duck breast, dried apricot, and crispy potato wafer.
