Those who are partial to the rich and savoury flavour of duck should get themselves over to Food Studio at Renaissance Hong Kong Harbour View Hotel from May 1 to Jun. 30 for a duck-focused buffet like no other.
The QUACK-tastic Festival is a two-month-long culinary experience showcasing duck dishes from around the world in an all-you-can-eat format, a rarity for a buffet concept like Food Studio.
Executive chef Owen Panzica has curated a menu of global duck flavours for diners to savour, from the smoked duck salad, duck pâté en croute, and duck confit with aged balsamic vinegar at the Western station to the Chinese station’s marinated duck in spiced soy sauce, braised duck in Thai red curry, and fried rice with minced duck.
If you’re dining at dinnertime, there are additional rotating live station specialities to spice things up: duck foie gras and Peking duck with shaved summer black truffle on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday evenings or poached duck foie gras in porcini and burdock broth with sea scallop, duck breast, and shaved summer black truffle on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings.
Dessert sticks to the ducky topic in a more playful fashion, spotlighting chocolate duck creations and duck-themed cakes.
The buffet is inclusive of free-flow orange juice, soft drinks, coffee, and tea, plus selected beers during weekend lunch and dinner services, with lunch priced from HKD528 per person and dinner from HKD848 per person.
