After eight years on the Soho scene, Hotal Colombo – one of the very few Sri Lankan restaurants in Hong Kong – has announced its imminent closure, with its last service on Jun. 30.

Before beloved native Sri Lankan chef Gisela “Gizzy” Alesbrook serves up her last hoppers, kothu, and curry at Hotal Colombo, she’ll be celebrating with a farewell menu of the restaurant’s greatest hits as well as a series of collaborations with other Black Sheep Restaurants chefs.

Highlights of the collabs include two female-led editions of the chef’s Crab Club (from HKD448 pp) – one with chef Teya Mikhael of Maison Libanaise on Jun. 10 and the other with chef ArChan Chan of Ho Lee Fook and Peng Leng Jeng on Jun. 17 – and, on Jun. 24, a kitchen takeover (HKD448 pp) by chef Palash Mitra of Michelin-starred New Punjab Club.

Luckily, this will not be the last we see of chef Gizzy. We’ve been informed that the chef and her team are set to take on new roles within Black Sheep in the coming months. Watch this space!
