Pizza Studio Tamaki, one of Japan’s most famous pizza brands, is dipping its toes in the Hong Kong pizza scene this year.

Hoarding has gone up advertising the launch of their first location in the city at 43 Lyndhurst Terrace where the former Green Waffle Diner once stood for 16 years.

A hot ticket reservation in Tokyo across three locations and one in Okinawa, Pizza Studio Tamaki has earned an international reputation for their Neapolitan pizzas topped with Japanese-farmed ingredients.

Recipes are kept simple with Marinara, Margarita, Salami, Arrabiatta, and Diavola pies, a collection of cheese base pizzas, and their signature Tamaki with cherry tomatoes and smoked cheese.

The pizzeria has open franchised locations in Manila, Sydney, Bangkok, New York City, and Singapore, the latter closing this Saturday (Oct. 31) after 16 months in Tanjong Pajar.

Tsubasa Tamaki, founder of Pizza Studio Tamaki, was ranked the world’s 18th best pizza chef in The Best Pizza 2026. His pizzeria was ranked the 18th best pizzeria in 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific 2024.
