Love butter but bored with the average stuff? Butter Bar will soon correct this with a focus on all types of butter to pair up with your toast.

Sai Kung’s newest café is centered on flavoured butter and sourdough toast, opening on Nov. 16 at the chic Dock 1A mall at the edge of Sai Kung town.

With eight flavours on the butter bar spanning from mocha and spicy fuyu to lava custard bun and lemon & basil, butters come in both house butter and toast (HKD35) and seasonal butter and toast (HKD45) form.

A butter flight of three butters and toast (HKD78) is also available if you are desperately craving the fatty stuff.

Toasted sandwiches including smoked salmon and egg (HKD118) and mushroom and garlic (HKD88), pastries, tap coffee and drinks, and specialty coffees make up the rest of the menu.

Butter Bar’s butter collection has been developed by one Michelin-starred Racines’ chef Chun Wah Leung using French-imported butter and local ingredients.

The Sai Kung opening is the successor to Clean, a Sheung Wan-based coffee bar and laundromat that used Clean Taps’ smart tap system to serve hot and cold beverages in seconds.
