Summer has been a good season for Sheung Wan. Alas, summer is nearly at an end.

To be fair, an end to 35 degree/95% humidity days is not something we are massively distraught about, especially as these eateries are set to stick around. So much plant-based goodness. Here are five we have our eye on (one still yet to open!):

Juice Bar

Zumufi

Zumufi is a new smoothie shop that has opened on the border of Sheung Wan and Central. It is also one of the characters that was cut from the Lion King.

…kidding.

Come here for ace beverages that are all dairy free and grab a sandwich while you’re at it. The grilled veg panini is our favourite.

Raw

Maya Cafe

These guys are not new to Hong Kong, but they are new to the neighbourhood. They were previously on Moon Street in Wan Chai, but have of this month relocated to Sheung Wan! Nan Fung Place no less, right on Des Voeux Road. Try the raw burger here, or grab some takeaway vegan food with a mediterranean accent.

Grassroots Pantry

We were beside ourselves when we heard Grassroots Pantry was getting bigger and better at the new spot on Hollywood Rd. The time has now come to truly out of body as the restaurant opens officially on the 1st of Sept! The menu now consists of a bunch of raw options, the space is airy and beautifully designed (we got a sneak peek and can attest to the tasteful decor) and the restaurant is open all day!

Green Monday Concept Store

A revolutionary store that seeks to bring a change in the food mindset to Hong Kong. Their mission is to make it a norm to eat in a way that is good for ourselves, good for others, and good for the planet. The flagship opened in Wan Chai around four months ago, but the great news is they’re opening in Sheung Wan in September. Hurrah! Stay tuned here and to their Facebook page to stay updated on when and where.
