The steakhouse that put a 1.2kg bone-in tomahawk on Changi Road is done. Tomahawk King: Steakhouse & Grill serves its last meal on 20 September 2026, closing after eight years at 324 Changi Road.

The operator’s reason is blunt: “Rising costs and the realities of today’s F&B landscape mean we can no longer continue sustainably.” In a separate note marking the run, the team wrote: “Over eight years, we watched first dates become engagements, weddings and growing families. You celebrated birthdays, baby showers and countless milestones around our tables.”

What’s leaving the menu

Tomahawk King built its name on scale. The signature Tomahawk Set is a 1.2kg bone-in ribeye at S$148, plated with cheesy fries, onion rings and a choice of black pepper, mushroom or brown sauce. For those who wanted Japan alongside the West, the A5 Wagyu Couple Set (S$99) paired 200g of Mie A5 Kuroge wagyu with 100g Australian grain-fed ribeye, four tiger prawns, a vegetable platter and unlimited wagyu rice — all halal-certified, a rarer combination for A5 yakiniku in Singapore. The menu’s other calling card, King’s Chicken, was a Raising Cane’s-style fried chicken tender play that gave the steakhouse a cheaper, faster-moving second act.

Hours until the close: 12pm to 10pm, last order 9pm, closed Mondays.

From a Tampines food court stall to a Changi Road flagship

The steakhouse wasn’t the group’s first business. TK Group’s story starts as StuffedWingLab, a fried chicken wing stall in Tampines Mall’s food court built around local flavours like chicken rice and nasi lemak wings. That grew into two Tang Tea House outlets, where Western dishes were folded into the menu — and where an early tomahawk steak found an unexpectedly large following. The pandemic accelerated it: the group pivoted to delivery and reportedly moved more than 10,000 tomahawks across Singapore during that stretch, enough demand to justify a standalone restaurant. Tomahawk King opened on Changi Road as that restaurant, combining the flame-grilled steaks with A5 wagyu yakiniku under one halal-certified roof.

The block isn’t losing halal beef entirely

Tomahawk King’s closure narrows TK Group’s footprint on this stretch of Changi Road rather than ending it. Charr’d, an A5 wagyu steakhouse the group opened in 2023 one unit away, stays open. So does Gyusei Gyukatsu Wagyu Steakhouse, which opened in September 2025 serving what it bills as Singapore’s first halal-certified A5 wagyu gyukatsu. Between the two, the group’s bet on halal Japanese beef on this particular block continues — just without the tomahawk that started it.
