The thought of British food might not elicit the greatest feelings of desire, but for Hong Kongers longing for the flavours of the British Isles, Butter Babe has opened on Gough Street, selling cherished jacket potato plates in the city.

The new restaurant, opened by a Hong Konger who’s recently returned from the UK, keeps the menu simple with just five jacket potato recipes up for grabs.

The signatures carry a nostalgic weight for lovers of the British staple. The sour cream and chives (HKD95), cheese and beans (HKD90), and tuna coleslaw (HKD90) are the leaders on the menu, mere days after soft-opening.

Open daily from 11:30AM to 9PM, make sure to go early for lunch or dinner and check Butter Babe’s Instagram page for updates as the jacket potatoes are selling like… hot potatoes.
