Think you can handle maggot cheese? Sheep eyeball juice? Fermented bird insides? The Disgusting Food Museum is making its debut in Hong Kong on Sep. 29 for the ultimate stomach challenge.

The Disgusting Food Museum welcomes Hong Kongers – with vomit bags in tow – to try the stinkiest, grossest, and weirdest foods on the planet at AIRSIDE’s GATE33 Gallery, including Swedish surströmming (fermented herring), Peruvian frog juice, American Rocky Mountain oysters (bull testicles), and Icelandic fermented shark.

Encompassing five thematic zones introducing increasingly perverse flavours, namely Field Feast, Curious Cures, Scraps & Scents, Choice & Custom, and The Last Supper, this intrepid dining experience (pardon us if that sounds too positive) also features a tasting bar with the most pungent of dishes to sample. Visitors who complete the dining challenge will earn the title of “Tastebud Warrior.”

Debuting in Sweden in 2018, the Disgusting Food Museum has threatened the tolerance of attendees in Taipei, Los Angeles, Berlin, and Bordeaux, featuring 80 of the world’s most challenging foods from 35-plus countries.

Tickets are priced from HKD68 for adults and HKD48 for children. Early-bird tickets are limited to 200 in total on a first come, first served basis from Klook, Maoyan, and uutix.
