Yau Veggie, proponents of plant-based dining in Hong Kong, are opening a new vegetarian French brasserie at PMQ in Central later this year.
Formerly operating Yau Veggie Diner and Yau Veggie Bistro at The Mills in Tsuen Wan and Yau Veggie Bistro in Shek Tong Tsui, the Yau restaurant team have stressed the power of vegetables as a substitute for meat across pan-European and American cuisines. The group currently still run burger shack Yau Veggie Truck in West Kowloon.
Yau Veggie Brasserie will invite a celebrated Michelin-starred chef skilled in plant-based dining to lead the kitchen, with the opening being the more upscale concept across their four former and current restaurants.
The latest eatery, with no set opening date, takes a fine gastronomy lens to vegetarian and vegan cuisine, possibly the city’s fanciest take.
