Reggae beats boom through the room, which is illuminated by green, yellow and orange, while the aroma of Caribbean spices intoxicate patrons and passersby. What’s for lunch? Jerk chicken. Jamaican cuisine has arrived at the intersection of Leighton Road and Haven Street in Causeway Bay.

Boom Boom Food pops up on January 4, 2015, bringing One Love to the community. Anesha Gibbs, the new restaurant’s founder and chef, invites Hong Kong on a cultural journey inspired by the warmth, music and flavours of Jamaica, the country where she learned the joy of cooking in her grandmother’s kitchen. It was in this home that Anesha learned the family’s recipe for jerk chicken, Boom Boom Food’s signature dish.
