Coffee crumbs, you say? Blue Bottle Coffee has not announced anything official, but these java gurus have posted two job listings for Hong Kong-based positions. They are currently looking for a Brand Experience Manager and a Director of Operations here, which are definitely roles that foretell that a burgeoning base of this California-cool roaster is moving into the 852.

Blue Bottle Coffee is a modish speciality coffee roaster rooted in California that has increased its presence to over 50 cafés in the United States, Japan and Korea. The artisanal coffee shops embody a Japanese-influenced minimalism and focus on single-origin beans. Blue Bottle has also popularised cold-brew coffee within the USA and is part of what’s known as “third-wave coffee”, which is essentially a willingness to pay more for innovative brewing methods and improved coffee quality, along with a commitment to sustainability. All this prompted Swiss conglomerate Nestlé to purchase a half-billion-dollar stake for 68 per cent of the company.

If you’re after a hit of BBC in the Kong right now, Lof10 in Sheung Wan stocks Blue Bottle Coffee that’s like a taste of San Fran in a cup – until you can score that Brand Experience position and drink it all day long, that is.
