With the cooler temperatures of autumn comes famed German beer festival Oktoberfest at Happy Valley Racecourse. A guaranteed good time, Happy Wednesday presents four weeks of Oktoberfest fun – full of traditional Bavarian music, exciting horse races and plenty of great food and beer. The four-week party begins on 25 September 2019, followed by 9, 16 and 23 October.
Oktoberfest music
An exciting kick-off ceremony will take place on 25 September with a traditional German band performance by The Notenhobler, also performing on 9 and 16 October. Talbachbuam takes the stage on 23 October.
Beer, bites and games
German beer brands including Paulaner and Erdinger will wet the whistle and provide the necessary elements for games of beer pong and barrel roll. And it’s not just for fun – a total of HK$16,000 is up for grabs in cash prizes for the stein-hoisting challenge!
Look forward to delicious Oktoberfest-themed food, including roasted pork knuckle with sauerkraut and mashed potato, Nürnberger and cheese krainer sausage with sauerkraut and mashed potato, duck patty on braised red cabbage with cherry jam, pretzel with cheese dip, boiled beef cheek with sauerkraut and bouillon potato, baked salmon fillet with horseradish sauce and spinach and cheese strudel.
