Before we bid farewell to 2019, we find out which restaurants made the list for the upcoming year’s Michelin Guide. It’s time to start planning for your star-filled eating escapades in 2020!

The 2020 guide awarded one Michelin star to a total of 61 restaurants in Hong Kong and Macau. Out of this bunch, 51 restaurants are based in Hong Kong.

Of the one-Michelin-starred restaurants that lost their stars are Qi – House of Sichuan and Sushi Tokami in Hong Kong, while Yan Toh Heen lost one star from its previous year’s two-star rating. Newcomers Aaharn, L‘Envol, Liu Yuan Pavilion, Louise, Roganic, Rùn, Ryota Kappou Modern and ZEST by Konishi each earned their first Michelin star, while established names Fook Lam Moon (Wanchai), Gaddi’s and Restaurant Petrus also achieved a one-star rating.

Arbor and Wing Lei in Macau climbed to two stars and newcomer Sichuan Moon in Macau was awarded two Michelin stars, while Bo Innovation has been downgraded to two stars.

Forum elevates to three stars, while renowned names the likes of Caprice, 8½ Otto e Mezzo Bombana, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Lung King Heen, Sushi Shikon and T’ang Court maintain their three-star rating.
