Warm regards are pouring into the comments section from friends and chefs around the city and beyond. Chef Jaakko Sorsa was the first Nordic chef in Hong Kong, helming the respected restaurant FINDS (an acronym for Finland, Iceland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden) since 2004.
He was recognised for his innovative cooking skills and delicious dishes at our Foodie Forks awards in 2013, which continued to be a favourite of ours when FINDS moved from its Wyndham Street location over to its new home at The Luxe Manor hotel in TST. So much so, we named him Chef of the Year at the 2015 awards.
Chef Sorsa also collaborated with Foodie to provide our readers with his own Nordic recipes to make at home. Check out this back issue for the chef’s recipes such Nordic shrimp soup, Grandmother Ida’s meatballs and Nordic pancakes.
We at Foodie wish Chef Sorsa the very best. We will miss his upbeat personality, fine Nordic cuisine and outstanding contribution to Hong Kong’s food scene.
