Why have IKEA meatballs not been considered a pizza topping before? This is the question we’ve found ourselves asking since we first heard about the new IKEA Hong Kong and Pizza Hut collaboration.
Not only are they popping those tasty balls of meat on the tops of Pizza Hut pizzas, but they are also making mini pizza tables (you know those little round things with legs that stop your pizza box from caving in) into real, life-size tables that perfectly fit a pizza. A pizza table! We all need one of these in our life. The SÄVA table even comes in a flat-packed pizza box for extra kitsch.
Apparently these pizzas have been a hit too, with more more than 67 per cent of units of the Pizza Hut x IKEA pizza sold than were initially projected in the first three days.
Yep, no joke – even though the whole thing sounds like it should be an April Fool’s Day gag…
