Introducing BaseHall. Be hungry. Be excited. Be ready. Coming June 2020.
It’s safe to say we are hungry, excited and ready.

We’ve discovered that BaseHall will showcase 10 artisanal vendors, and one will be a new Japanese-style rotisserie, ROTI TORI, from the team at Yardbird.
Another vendor will come from the wonderful crew at TREEHOUSE with their addictive plant-based sourdough flatbreads.
Yet another will be one of our favourite burger brands, Honbo, with their inspiring ethos of supporting local farms by using freshly harvested ingredients.
And it looks like popular Vietnamese street-food eatery Cô Thành will be inhabiting the space as they’ve already added the BaseHall address to their Instagram page.
We have also been informed that the vendors sitting alongside the great eats above will be authentic Mexican chow from Esdras Ochoa’s 11 Westside, modern Korean by MOYO, the brewmasters of Young Master Brewery, nasi lemak and more hawker-style eats at Return of Lemak from Chef Barry Quek of Beet, our pals over at Cookie DPT, who bake up the most amazing American-style cookies and cookie cakes, and the Mandarin Oriental team, who will be running BaseHall Bar.
The space that BaseHall will inhabit was the previous site for the city’s beloved Grappa’s Cellar restaurant and live entertainment venue, large premises located in the basement of Jardine House in Central. This modern food hall been designed by Linehouse, the firm responsible for the beautiful interior design of dining hotspots like John Anthony.
Excited? After all the closures and difficulties facing the F&B industry in Hong Kong, it’s heartening to write about something that will bring a new dialogue to our dear city, which has been coping so incredibly well despite the ongoing challenges.
