Hong Kong truly has some of the best bars in the world. This fact was further cemented with the recent Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2020 announcements. Two Hong Kong bars placed in the top 3, while an impressive total of eight Hong Kong watering holes made the list!

Celebrating this spectacular achievement, Aqua Spirit is hosting the talented Hong Kong bar teams from The Pontiac, The Wise King, Caprice Bar and COA in a series of pop-ups throughout the month of June. Aqua’s unbeatable panoramic views make this the perfect setting to showcase the talents of these mixologists in a series of three-day events.

Unfortunately, you may have already missed The Pontiac’s fabulous pop-up that saw award-winning Beckaly Franks and her talented Ponti crew serving up four of their signature cocktails and decorating Aqua with Coyote Ugly–style flair. However, there are still three pop-ups coming up that you will absolutely not want to miss.

Thursday, 11 June–Saturday, 13 June: The Wise King

The Wise King Hong Kong

Taking over Aqua from 11–13 June is elegant Spanish bar The Wise King. Mixologist Sandeep Kumar (a two-time Bacardi Grand Prix National Champion, who recently ranked at #18 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars) will showcase The Wise King’s exotic cocktails and even unveil a new cocktail, The Kingtail. Made with Sabatini gin, Mancino vermouth bianco, mandarinetto, Sirene bitters and ramazzotti, this botanical cocktail will also feature on Aqua’s Because Brunch over Saturday, 13 June and Sunday, 14 June.

Thursday, 18 June–Saturday, 20 June: Caprice Bar

Caprice Bar Hong Kong

Making its debut on the Asia’s 50 Best Bars list is gorgeous Caprice Bar. Each cocktail is designed to take guests on a journey through France via historic and classic flavours of the region. During these evenings, Abel Rogers on the DJ deck and guests of the Because Brunch over the weekend will get to enjoy one of Caprice’s speciality cocktails on free-flow.

Thursday, 25 June–Saturday, 27 June: COA

COA Hong Kong

Last but certainly not least is the incomparable Oaxaca-inspired COA. Not only did COA place high at #3 on Asia’s Best Bars 2020, but co-founder and head mixologist Jay Khan was recently named Altos Bartenders’ Bartender 2020. Khan will treat guests to four of his artisanal creations including Tamarind Milk Punch, crafted with mezcal joven, Matusalem 15-year-old rum, sherry, tamarind, coffee, coconut, lemon, cinnamon, cardamom and salt. A non-alcoholic cocktail is also available, and, of course, guests can enjoy one of COA’s cocktails over the weekend at Aqua’s Because Brunch.

Each cocktail is priced at $100 or guests can purchase an online drink package ($300) in advance to try all the cocktails from each bar when you select one event to attend.
