We pride ourselves on being the first to uncover the city’s latest and most inventive dining experiences. This year brings an exciting new chapter as pioneering two-Michelin-starred modern Chinese restaurant Bo Innovation celebrates its 20th anniversary with an electrifying new 10-course Arts of Asia tasting menu.

Helmed by acclaimed Demon Chef Alvin Leung for the past two decades, the two-Michelin-starred Bo Innovation has redefined Chinese cuisine with an avant-garde approach. To honour this milestone, Chef Leung has crafted an imaginative new degustation menu that showcases his trademark style. Offered at the remarkable price of HK$900 per person for groups of four or more, this menu provides unprecedented access to Bo Innovation’s culinary innovation.

A tasting menu drawing from Chinese art and culture

At our exclusive media tasting, we sampled an array of tantalising new dishes that demonstrate Chef Leung’s knack for drawing inspiration from Chinese art and culture whilst also presenting familiar ingredients and flavours in refreshingly modern ways.

The menu begins with Five Oxen, a beef-focused creation influenced by Han Huang’s renowned painting of five bulls. Diners can experience five riveting new preparations of bovine parts including bone marrow, ox fat, fermented milk curd, liver and beef consommé. Next comes the playful Master Q, bringing a beloved Hong Kong comic character to life through an artistic jade-hued scallop and pea terrine garnished with mountain yam and shrimp roe.

Other highlights include the splendid Lotus, pairing tender snow crab with a creamy apple and lotus-root purée accented with lotus-flower vinegar. We also sampled the innovative Bamboo at Work, featuring uniquely salt-roasted bamboo shoot and black truffle, topped tableside with decadent fresh foie-gras shavings. Each dish provides a multifaceted experience that engages the senses on many levels.

Pioneer in progressive Chinese cuisine

As Hong Kong’s trailblazer in modern Chinese fare, Bo Innovation astonishes guests even after 20 groundbreaking years. The restaurant’s new Arts of Asia 20th-anniversary tasting menu exemplifies its spirit of innovation and creativity, now accessible to more diners than ever before.

This imaginative 10-course menu provides an excellent introduction to Chef Leung’s inventive approach. With dishes inspired by Chinese culture reinterpreted in contemporary ways, it makes for a truly multidimensional dining experience.
