Southsiders looking to get their hands on some authentic Italian products this Christmas season are in luck with the debut of Mercato Gourmet’s pop-up at The Repulse Bay Arcade. This gourmet Italian supermarket, founded by chef patron Gianni Caprioli in 2012, is perfect for all your festive dining and gifting needs – notably offering the largest panettone selection in Hong Kong, plus turkey sets, gift hampers, pantry goods, and premium Italian wine aplenty.
Panettone lovers can delight in the more than 100 panettone and pandoro choices at Mercato Gourmet. Artisanal panettone on offer include those by Tiri, Olivieri 1882, Biasetto, Fiasconaro, and ETRO. Not only is this traditional Italian sweet bread delicious as is, but we also highly recommend it as a vehicle for a divine French toast Christmas breakfast.
Other gifting ideas at Mercato Gourmet include items by two historic Italian chocolate brands that are new to the grocer’s line-up: Lavoratti, with over 85 years of history, and Bodrato, specialising in handmade chocolate since 1943. Another newcomer to the shop is La Via del Tè from Florence, which offers premium single-origin teas from around the world, as well as teapots, cups, and accessories.
The Mercato Gourmet pop-up in Repulse Bay will be open daily until the end of the year, from 10am–8pm.
