Not exactly low-key despite its moniker, Master Low-key Food Shop has been a stalwart of the Shau Kei Wan neighbourhood in eastern Hong Kong Island for over 10 years, offering up a range of delicious sweet and savoury egg puffs (aka gai daan jai, aka egg waffles) in creative flavours like apple (HKD38), chocolate (HKD40), and spicy sausage (HKD40). The queues are legendary!

Master-Low Key Food Shop has now moved west, opening up another branch in the happening foodie ’hood of Causeway Bay.

In addition to the egg puffs, a must-order at this food stall is the golden HK egg waffle (HK38) – this time, it’s a traditional American-style waffle – with the unlikely (but addictive) combination of salted egg yolk, condensed milk, and sugar.

The Causeway Bay branch of Master Low-key Food Shop is open every day except Monday, from 11AM till 7PM.
