New to the Grand Hyatt’s F&B portfolio is LIPS Cocktails & Theatre, a great option for your next night on the town, with cocktails, DJs, live music, and even magic performances on every Tuesday through Saturday from 6PM till late.
LIPS is hidden away from prying eyes, accessed via the second floor of Grand Hyatt Steakhouse behind layers of curtains. The venue is the brainchild of husband-and-wife duo Nicole and Benoit Lavaud, who also brought the exclusive Maison Rouge party concept to life in Hong Kong.
The intimate, dimly lit lounge space offers a beverage menu built around interactive cocktails, each with a story to tell, crafted by master mixologist Max Traverse. One drink we can’t wait to sip is Wet Lips (HKD158), which blends Sichuan peppercorn syrup with Ming River baijiu, rum-based Velvet Falernum liqueur, grapefruit, pineapple, yuzu, and cardamom. It’s finished with lemon spray spritzed from a perfume bottle.
LIPS’ late-night supper menu has been designed by Grand Hyatt executive chef Nikolaos Lekkas and Grand Hyatt Steakhouse head chef Marc Benkoe to complement the extraordinary drinks. The foie gras lollipops (HKD185/4pcs), Wagyu katsu sando (HKD488), and lips-shaped chocolates (HKD45/pc) sound right up our street.
Live entertainment is an important part of the nightlife experience at LIPS. The venue presents a line-up of comedians, magicians, singers, live bands, and DJs taking the stage every night.
