Opened in 2014 at The Pottinger hotel, The Envoy has enjoyed an enviable reputation as a top spot in Central for brunch, afternoon tea, and cocktails.
Now, after a decade on the scene, the charming colonial-inspired bar and restaurant is shutting shop this month, with the last day of service scheduled for Jun. 29.
We’ll miss The Envoy’s chilled outdoor terrace, we’ll miss the Tiffin Box executive lunch menu, we’ll miss the all-you-can-eat weekend brunch with unlimited small plates, but most of all, we’ll miss the cocktails.
The Envoy’s seasonal drinks list is masterminded by Antonio Lai – the winner of our Foodie Forks 2024 Bartender of the Year award for his masterful mixology skills at Quinary – group bar manager Hungie Fong, and beverage development manager Alexander Ko, inspired by the convergence of the East and West.
In honour of its decade-long run serving up quality tipples, The Envoy has resurrected 10 of its most popular cocktails since 2014 to share with its loyal patrons. These ingenious libations include the carbonated Dewdrops of the Heart (HKD130), featuring pandan-redistilled vodka, green tea and jasmine double-strength tea, and homemade pandan syrup, and the sweet and fruity Early Bird (HKD130), which blends vodka, pineapple and lemon juices, passion-fruit purée, vanilla syrup, and bitters.
For a riff on a cha chaan teng favourite, we recommend Dinosaur (HKD130), marrying vodka, Godiva chocolate liqueur, milk, and Milo – chased with a Milo ice ball.
Head to The Envoy before the end of the month to bid them a fond farewell whilst savouring a taste of the past.
