Shifting its focus towards affordability, authentic Malaysian restaurant Auntie MALAY at Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui has recently unveiled a series of promotions that have got us talking.

At the top of the list is Auntie MALAY’s HKD1 Hainan chicken rice, up for ordering for dinner until Oct. 20. To indulge in this rock-bottom plate of succulent poached chicken with seasoned rice, you’ll need to first spend a minimum of HKD150 on main menu items or beverages. This promotion is limited to one serving per person per night.

Also at dinnertime, the eatery has debuted new dinner sets for one, priced from HKD118. These solo sets feature a choice of appetiser, such as chicken or pork satay or shrimp cake, a main dish – we suggest going for the signature prawn and shredded chicken laksa or yellow curry beef short rib and tendon with roti paratha – and a drink. Those dining in groups can instead opt for the dinner sets for two (from HKD390) or dinner sets for four (from HKD886).

If you’re heading to Auntie MALAY for lunch, the new lunch specials (from HKD88) come with a hot or iced drink: lemon water or tea, Auntie’s secret milk tea, Ipoh white coffee, or red date longan honey.
