Riding the wave of Korean openings in Hong Kong, Chung Chun Rice Hotdog on Leighton Road in Causeway Bay is a more low-key but no less delicious affair from the Land of the Morning Calm.

Opened in Seoul in 2017, Chung Chun can now be found at more than 200 locations across the globe. It’s the chain’s Korean-style corn dogs – known as “rice dogs” owing to their rice-flour batter – that have taken the world by storm. This particular batter achieves an optimal crispiness that cornmeal-battered corn dogs cannot.

Chung Chun’s corn dogs come in several scrumptious varieties, including the potato-coated gamsung hot dog (HKD41), mozzarella hot dog (HKD42), ramyun chips hot dog (HKD41), and Korean chilli hot dog (HKD42). Or you can opt for the set box (HKD190/HKD195 halal), packed with five of the brand’s most popular dogs.

After you’ve ordered, you can glam up your corn dog with Chung Chun’s wide range of sauces and seasonings; we’re partial to the OG Korean trio of ketchup, honey mustard, and sugar (don’t knock it till you’ve tried it).

To wet your whistle, add on a soda combo (+HKD18) with Korean nutty milk, yuzu soda, or lemon soda, and if that’s still not enough Korean tastiness, Chung Chun’s side combo (+HKD20) options include tteokbokki and mini fried dumplings.
