Kowloon Taproom
“In Brews, We Trust,” Kowloon Taproom believes, striving in their mission to produce and serve local craft beer on tap and in bottles. Located just off the main Nathan Road strip in Tsim Sha Tsui, the bar is cosy and hosts a multi-page menu of beers from Hong Kong Beer Co, Moonzen Brewery, Lion Rock Brewery, and more.

TAP: The Ale Project
Brought to us by Young Master Brewery, TAP was the first craft beer pub in Kowloon when it opened in Mong Kok all the way back in 2014. The space has a revolving list of 18 fresh pours, 11 being Young Master stouts, IPAs, dark ales, and hazy beers, and seven imported beers from breweries in the USA, England, Belgium, Australia, and beyond.

BrewDog
Opening in Hong Kong in full vigour, BrewDog’s Central location is the city’s latest craft beer hotspot to sample great British beer, both headliners and small-batch producers from the country, and a selection of local Hong Kong brews. At BrewDog, you can find 0% craft beer drinks too!

Zhang Men Craft Brewery
Founded in Taiwan, Zhang Men first landed in Sai Ying Pun, before today setting up shop in Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok. Their philosophy focuses on small-batch production using natural materials. The indie brewery has 20 rotating pours on offer, with intriguing flavours such as oolong tea, passion fruit, Sichuan peppercorn, caramel, lychee, and orange, just to name a few.

Out of the Brew
Standing opposite the famed COA bar, Out of the Brew is a mini-portal to exploring regional craft beer in bottled form and select local pours from the usual suspects. The strength of this Central taproom is its open-air Shin Hing Street space, which makes for a great street-drinking experience in the cooler and less humid months.

Ho Lan Jeng
Local craft beer bar Ho Lan Jeng translates to “so freaking good” in English, in reference to their funky beers imported from Hong Kong breweries and locally brewed beer made in-house at their Central location. This craft beer spot also makes great meaty and fermented plates that pair nicely with the 11 rotating beers on tap.

The Madhouse
Gastropub and brewery The Madhouse operates raucous Causeway Bay and Mong Kok locations that stock excellent line-ups of bottled and kegged craft beers from the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, Norway, the UK, and the USA. These taprooms feature guest taps from local breweries, so you can sample your favourite Hong Kong brews too.

Yardleys Taproom
Hong Kong’s leading brewery Yardley Brothers opened their first taproom in the city on Peel Street in Soho in a homely space serving 14 taps of Yardley craft beer and meaty and carby plates to match with the alcohol. Their taproom stocks classics such as Lamma Island IPA, Hong Kong Bastard Imperial IPA, Machine Men Pale Ale, and seasonal real ales.

Second Draft
Opening in Tai Hang in 2016, Second Draft continues to grow a legacy in the craft beer scene in Causeway Bay’s Festival Walk. Another Young Master Brewery creation, the gastropub holds 23 taps available to choose from Young Master pale ales, sour beers, Belgian beers, stouts, and more, as well as other beers from other Hong Kong breweries and top global suppliers.
