JOM restaurants in Sheung Wan and Wan Chai are great choices for those seeking the vibrant, punchy flavours of Singapore’s hawker centres.

Celebrating three years since its launch in Hong Kong, JOM is doubling down on its Lion City hawker focus with an affordable eight-course third-anniversary tasting menu (HK598 for 2).

Available until January 2025, the Newton Nights tasting menu is named after Singapore’s most well-known hawker centre – Newton Food Centre – a childhood favourite of JOM founder Jordan Lee. The menu features three traditional sharing appetisers, a choice of two mains, a noodle dish, vegetables, and dessert, with highlights of DIY pie tee with chicken curry, seafood wat tan hor (wok-fried flat rice noodles in egg sauce), and coffee pork ribs.

To truly up the ante, diners can add on a showstopping dish of white pepper mud crab (+HKD333), possibly the most famous dish originating in Singapore’s hawker centres.
