Chef Vicky Cheng of VEA and WING fame is venturing into the casual dining scene with the opening of a dual-concept space in Central: a gelato shop and Western restaurant.
His new Wellington Street space sees Liz & Tori gelato shop open side by side to Medora, a restaurant exploring European and American flavours. The gelato shop is dedicated to the chef’s two daughters, Elizabeth and Victoria.
Liz & Tori hosts a selection of 10 gelato flavours alongside seasonal specials. The gelato is served in either a homemade waffle cone or cup for HKD58 per flavour.
Translating from the Greek to mean “mother’s gift,” Medora presents a diversion from fine-dining Chinese cuisine for chef Vicky, now turning his attention to the fine-casual space with familiar and hearty European and American flavours.
On the Medora menu, classics like fresh shrimp cocktail (HKD198), barbecue chicken (HKD368), and USDA Prime tenderloin beef tartare (HKD248) feature.
