Conrad Hong Kong’s all-day-dining restaurant Garden Café has recently transformed into a homestyle Italian kitchen concept, with its lunch and dinner buffets the backbone of the eatery.
Curated by Italian chef Riccardo Catarsi, the “Festa Italiana” buffet, available for lunch (from HKD468 pp) and dinner (from HKD798 pp), is packed with a wide range of regional Italian dishes.
The antipasti table is the best place to start, laden with top-quality Italian cold cuts and cheeses. Each diner will also be presented with an individual Italian cold cut platter of Parma ham, salami with fennel, and chicken-liver pâte.
Seafood plays a big role on most Italian menus, and diners at Garden Café can indulge in under-the-sea delights from the seafood crudo counter, such as swordfish tartare, tuna carpaccio, and octopus salad.
Other savoury highlights shine at live stations where the likes of porchetta sandwich, a popular Tuscan street food, and made-to-order pasta and risotto are dished out.
On the café’s terrace, diners can select meaty grilled beauties like Australian Wagyu chuck, New Zealand lamb rack, and Italian sausage, along with Roman-style pizza in an array of flavours .
Classic Italian desserts are served in sumptuous all-you-can-eat fashion, from tiramisu and zabaione with biscotti to hazelnut and chocolate panna cotta and Sicilian pistachio cannoli.
A family-friendly dining affair, the buffet is priced from HKD328 for lunch and from HKD398 for dinner for kids aged between 6 and 12 years old.
