In a list of The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops released last week, Espresso Alchemy in Tsuen Wan has pulled in a high ranking of 43rd best coffee shop in the world.
The global rankings, released annually, consider a number of factors and alongside both public and expert panel voting. Evaluation criteria for a ranking includes quality of coffee, customer service, ambience and atmosphere, and food and pastry quality.
Ranking with only 12 other coffee shops in Asia – one each from Taiwan, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore, three from Malaysia , and four from The Philippines, Espresso Alchemy is Hong Kong’s solo entry.
Espresso Alchemy has two other locations in Tsim Sha Tsui and one each in Kwai Chung and Tseung Kwan O, but it’s their larger space with a stronger food programme in western New Territories that has claimed a title.
