Shelley Tai, founder and mixologist behind Mius in Hong Kong, has won the Altos Bartenders’ Bartender Award 2026, announced by Asia’s 50 Best Bars today.
The award, voted by Asia’s best bartenders from the bars ranked on the 2026 list, is part of a series of special awards bestowed on figures of the region’s bar industry, announced ahead of the Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2026 ceremony in Macau on Jul. 28.
With a bartending CV stretching from FINDS and Quinary in Hong Kong to the role of operations director at Singapore’s leading bar Nutmeg & Clove, the award “recognises an individual who has made a significant, positive impact on the bar industry, celebrating outstanding hospitality, industry leadership, and contribution to the cocktail community.”
The late summer opening of MIUS represented a homecoming of Shelley returning from a five-year stint in Singapore to bring cocktail-making back to basics, showcasing classic drinks with a twist.
Mius won the Foodie Forks 2026 Best Bar and Readers’ Choice – Best Bar awards.
