1. The Bayside & O’Thai

Silver Spoon sister restaurants The Bayside and O’Thai have recently debuted their own adjacent harbourfront afternoon tea experiences that sound ideal for al-fresco noshing. Up first, The Bayside’s afternoon tea platter is a Mediterranean affair showcasing comfort-food bites the likes of the Spanish ham on crystal tomato bread, salmon tartare, Wagyu beef slider, and tiramisu.
Moving next door to O’Thai, sweet and savoury Thai flavours are the obvious choices for this set, from the crispy spiced soft-shell crab and chicken satay to the mango sticky rice.
Both afternoon tea experiences are priced at HKD148 for one, with a glass of Prosecco or sangria costing just HKD30.

2. Dim Sum Library

Reopened last May following an extensive revamp, sleek yum cha specialist Dim Sum Library has introduced a free-flow afternoon tea set presented in a charming birdcage-shaped tiered stand. Over the course of a two-hour period, diners can get their fill of creative all-you-can-eat dim sum, appetisers, mains, and sweets, including bestsellers like the dan dan xiao long bao, black garlic siu mai, Wagyu beef puff with black pepper, and oolong crème brûlée. The set comes with a complimentary tea-infused mocktail.

3. Grand Hyatt Hong Kong (Tiffin)

Over at the Grand Hyatt, Tiffin’s signature afternoon tea service has been made even more refined with the inclusion of a luxe tableside dessert trolley loaded up with gorgeous sweets for diners to pick and choose as they fancy – and that’s in addition to the restaurant’s popular dessert station dishing out unlimited ice cream, freshly made crêpes and waffles, and seasonal fruits. In classic fashion, the tiered portion of the tea set features a season-driven assortment of inventive sweets and savouries. The parfait for two, also seasonal, is a headliner.

4. Magistracy Dining Room

At Magistracy Dining Room, chef Alyn Williams has put his grand stamp on the long-standing tradition of British afternoon tea. The chef’s teatime menu presents an array of sweet and savoury morsels that change with the seasons, such as stunners like the mini sausage roll, roasted chicken toasted crumpet, peach and cherry blossom cake, and matcha and apple choux. Enhancing these refined food offerings is an outstanding selection of British tea.

5. WATERMARK

Reopened last year at Pier 7 in Central, WATERMARK has amped up to its waterfront appeal with a sumptuous yet affordably priced afternoon tea set comprising four savoury and five sweet bites. Standouts on the savoury side include the seared scallop blini and truffle beef brisket focaccia, whilst the yuzu lemon tart and banoffee parfait are sweet stars.

6. JIJA by Vicky Lau

Chef Vicky Lau has launched a stylish Chinese-inspired afternoon tea at her new Kimpton Hong Kong restaurant, JIJA. Each item in the bespoke tiered stand – designed by the chef herself – takes diners on a creative journey through the flavours of Yunnan, from the Yunnan mushroom sando and braised lamb with rose tart on the savoury side to sweet bites of green tea ganache with frangipane and yuzu marmalade and milk chocolate layer cake with oolong Chantilly cream. For the not-so-traditional scone component, guests can enjoy salted egg scones with soy cream and Yunnan rose jam. The tea selection is particularly noteworthy, offering both rare Yunnan varieties and classic Chinese floral teas.

7. Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong (Gallery)

The afternoon tea experience at the Four Seasons’ Gallery all-day café has been reimagined, moving away from the classic tiered approach to a more up-to-date presentation. An artful table spread of sweets and savouries awaits, to include an amuse-bouche of warm dashi custard with scallop and shrimp, hors d’oeuvres such as the British artichoke soup and foie gras confit with rhubarb jelly and melon, and Japanese-inspired seasonal pastries the likes of the sakura and Japanese white peach confection. An indulgent napoleon cake with vanilla sauce is served as the grand finale.

8. ARMANI/CAFFÈ

A year since its debut in Hong Kong, the city’s first ARMANI/CAFFÈ at Pacific Place has launched an afternoon tea experience showcasing a modern Italian take on the tradition of afternoon tea. The sweets and savouries are inventive and beautiful to behold, with the Sicilian pink shrimp basket, caviar bomb, mini coconut mousse, and dark chocolate and raspberry bonbon amongst the highlights.

9. Jimmy’s Kitchen

It doesn’t get more British than the afternoon tea set offered at legendary Hong Kong restaurant Jimmy’s Kitchen, first opened in the city in 1928. The European culinary icon has collaborated with local sparkling tea brand Saicho to present a tea set featuring three savoury items, four sweet treats, plain, raisin, and chocolate scones, and a glass of Darjeeling, hojicha, or jasmine sparkling tea. 10. Rosewood Hong Kong (The Butterfly Room)

The Butterfly Room at Rosewood Hong Kong stands tall on our list, having been crowned the Foodie Forks Best Afternoon Tea and even the World’s Best Afternoon Tea by LaListe for its glam ambience, expertly crafted bites by executive pastry chef Jonathan Soukdeo, and live music to boot (Tuesday through Thursday). The menu reads like a fine-dining affair, offering amuse-bouche, fancy finger sandwiches, a decadent pre-dessert of caviar French toast, exquisite plated desserts of guava lychee cake and lemon verbena tartlet, and chocolate petits fours. However, it’s chef Jonathan’s freshly baked items – the Hokkaido chocolate flan in particular – that literally take the cake.

11. Common Man Coffee Roasters

With a nod to its origins in the Lion City, the tea set dished out at Common Man Coffee Roasters in Tsim Sha Tsui includes two pastries from Singapore’s celebrated Tiong Bahru Bakery. The experience at the café is heartier than most, also coming with a mini Cubano sandwich, smoked salmon salad, and signature crème brûlée. Soft drinks or fresh juices can be selected on the beverage side alongside coffee or tea.

12. The Mira Hong Kong (COCO)

Although The Mira Hong Kong’s Cuisine Cuisine no longer offers its weekday dim sum afternoon tea service, the hotel’s lobby café, COCO, is boldly taking the Cantonese restaurant’s place with this tea set where yum cha favourites are served up to diners hankering for some local flair. After sipping your welcome glass of Mindful Sparks sparkling tea, you can dig into a total of 10 creative bites inspired by quintessential Hong Kong flavours. What will take your fancy? The baked abalone puff pastry and corned beef and Japanese egg sando for a hit of salt, perhaps? Or will you be first enticed by the likes of the baked XL black sesame egg tart with mango and passion fruit confit and milk tea and pomelo crème brûlée? We’re tempted by one and all!

13. The Orient

A steakhouse might not be the obvious choice for a spot of afternoon tea, but newcomer The Orient rises to the occasion with its eye-catching tea set, with stunning harbour views to match. Leaning into its East-meets-West steakhouse roots, the bites veer towards the savoury end of the spectrum, with headlining morsels of Hokkaido scallop tartare, Vietnamese rice paper roll, and hand-cut beef tartare. The sweets are Southeast Asian crowd-pleasers like the Thai black sticky rice and pandan cake.

The best afternoon teas in Hong Kong 2026: summer experiences
1. Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong (Birdsong)

Opened just under a year ago, the Kimpton brand’s global flagship has introduced an afternoon tea set at chic all-day diner Birdsong that screams summertime luxury, inspired by the heady floral and fruity notes of Dior Beauty’s line of fragrances. To pair with the likes of the tuna tartare on shiso crisp, rose raspberry mousse shortbread, and Tonka blood orange cake, standout beverages await. We have our sights set on the Green Muse, a matcha drink crowned with the Dior motif, whilst the refreshing Rose Blanc layers orange juice and vanilla syrup beneath a shot of espresso.

2. Hotel ICON (The Market)

Hotel ICON’s buffet restaurant The Market is placing both coconut and durian on a pedestal with the launch of this teatime experience in partnership with long-standing coconut sweets brand Yan Chim Kee. The durian platter showcasing three premium durian fruits from Malaysia (Black Thorn, Johor Gold, and Hulu) is the star attraction, but the set features lots more durian- and coconut-laced treats to get our blood boiling. On the savoury side, there’s the double-boiled abalone coconut soup with durian and prawn durian laksa. For the sweet-toothed, the pandan durian pineapple bun, coconut candy ice cream with coconut konjac, and crispy durian custard flan are sure to satisfy.

3. Hopewell Hotel (Lobby Café)

Hopewell Hotel has sun-drenched orchards in mind with this afternoon tea set featuring Tea WG’s signature fruit teas. For instance, the peach tart incorporates the brand’s Geisha Blossom Tea, whilst Tea WG’s Alfonso Tea headlines in the Alfonso mango mousse. Even the savoury bites display a fruity touch, including the poached red shrimp salad tart with Crimson Hill Tea gel and smoked duck breast and Passion Fruit Tea terrine. Instead of the traditional scone, the bready element arrives in the form of the cranberry English muffin.

Pistachio is the on-trend teatime focus this summer at Gateway Hotel’s contemporary buffet restaurant Three on Canton. Another green-hued teatime experience is in store at Hyatt Centric’s Cruise restaurant, this time with a Southeast Asian swagger. It’s Pandan Man’s aromatic pandan treats that take centre stage here, specifically the brand’s light-as-air black sesame pandan chiffon cake. More pandan goodness awaits in bites such as the pandan egg tart, pandan coconut layer cake, and pandan Wagyu slider, all made with fresh pandan leaves sourced directly from Thailand by the Pandan Man team. At the eatery’s signature all-you-can-eat live stations, shaved ice with gula melaka syrup and seasonal ice cream are up for grabs in unlimited quantities. Prosecco on arrival is included.

7. The St. Regis Hong Kong (The Drawing Room)

The St. Regis Hong Kong’s seasonal afternoon tea adventure at The Drawing Room sees Australian natural skincare brand Grown Alchemist’s aromatic botanical ingredients steal the show in bright top notes of bergamot, citrus, geranium, lemongrass, rosemary, and more. As always at The Drawing Room, guests are tasked with curating their own bespoke teatime experience by selecting their choice of sweet and savoury bites from the eatery’s tableside trolley (going all savoury is an option that we wholly recommend). Summery morsels include the Amela tomato and burrata, green asparagus terrine, bergamot guava ball, and lemon basil cake.

Coming complete with two glasses of champagne, W Hong Kong’s WOOBAR has invited guest chef Yoshikazu Mukai of boutique hotel The Tokyo Toranomon EDITION to design an afternoon set showcasing the beauty of Japanese terroir in the summertime. Hokkaido sweet shrimp and scallop tartare with sea urchin, chilled Wagyu roast beef with dashi soy jelly, Miyazaki mango jelly with roasted green tea and ginger, and Japanese rice pudding with Yamanashi peach are just a few of the elevated bites that are sure to delight fans of the Land of the Rising Sun’s pristine produce.

9. The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong (Café 103)

The seasonal sky-high tea at The Ritz-Carlton’s Café 103 is a partnership with Issey Miyake Parfums in honour of the brand’s newly launched Lumière d’Issey perfume. Amongst the highlights are the smoked salmon with pistachio crumble and orange zest, lychee dessert with bergamot-infused honey and Tahitian vanilla Chantilly, and raspberry dessert with pistachio praline and floral financier, each offering a nod to the fragrance’s floral and woodsy scent profile of green mandarin, orange blossom, pistachio wood, and sandalwood.
