Hong Kong’s latest friendly Soho watering hole opening is The Boar, coming to the city by the team behind Peel Street wine bar Bourke’s and nearby Soho mainstay Honky Tonks Tavern. In the ground-floor public house space, the gastropub presents an all-day menu of beer and more casual bites, such as Welsh rarebit (HKD88), Scotch egg (HKD98), and beer-battered cod & chips (HKD228). 3. RAF

RAF The best new restaurants to try in Hong Kong October 2026

Hong Kong’s only cheese omakase restaurant, ROUCOU in Central, has headed west to Wan Chai to open cosy all-day diner RAF in Starstreet Precinct, this time specialising in the light, crisp, and airy Roman-style flatbread known as pinza – the first eatery of its kind in Hong Kong. There are six pinza flavours up for trying, from the classically Italian margherita (HKD128) and pistachio mortadella (HKD148) to the more off-piste yuzu chicken and avo (HKD138) and double pepperoni and hot honey (HKD138). In a nod to its predecessor, the signature “RAF Moment” allows diners to crown their pinza with a tableside cheese-grating service courtesy of the ROUCOU team.

Lee Gardens in Causeway Bay is the latest home of Tim Ho Wan, a home-grown global dim sum chain that’s famed for once being the world’s most affordable Michelin-starred restaurant (it’s still quite wallet friendly!). What sets this branch apart from the rest is the debut of the glass-fronted “Global Dim Sum Innovation Lab,” acting as a space for both pioneering dim sum recipe development and a training academy for up-and-coming yum cha chefs. There are several menu items on board that are exclusive to this outlet, including the chef’s special siu mai trio (HKD48) of steamed pork and shrimp, quail egg and XO sauce, and typhoon shelter crab dumplings and roasted tea and fig steamed pudding (HKD36), as well as a merch counter for the true Tim Ho Wan fans out there.

TIENMO The best new restaurants to try in Hong Kong October 2026

“High-low playfulness” is apt description of TIENMO, a too-cool-for-school concept by Timo Kim, Kpop celeb manager, bringing soulful Korean comfort food to Soho with a focus on premium ingredients. This translates to the likes of the standout Korean fried chicken service (HKD428), a whole in-house-brined and fried chicken served on a silver platter with the luxe additions of Kaviari caviar and crème fraîche, and dedicated Veuve Clicquot champagne pairings.
