The collaboration between the World’s Best Hotel and World’s Best Bar will be revealed in all its glory on Nov. 25 in Hong Kong.
Bar Camillo, conceived by Bar Leone and Montana co-founders Lorenzo Antinori and Justin Shun Wah and Rosewood Hong Kong’s leading hospitality team, is a concept all about the ‘salotto’, or Italian drawing room, a space dedicated to hosting, gathering, and partying.
At the centre of the cocktail bar concept is Italian cocktail making and service, a continuation of Bar Leone’s neigbourhoodly and convivial nature.
Cocktails by Lorenzo Antinori and his team will centre around three themes: Aperitivi di Benvenuto, dry, low-ABV drinks to begin the night; Cocktail della Casa, seasonal yet classic drinks; and Playful Party Touches, flirty and fun cocktails kicking off the party mood. A Negroni Trolley also joins the fun.
The menu will change seasonally and adapt to pop-cultural references from Hong Kong to Rome and elsewhere.
The bar feels like the older and more mature brother to Bar Leone, dressed in a modern mid-century style with large mirrors, veneered wood, and gold, green, and cream colours painting the space. Lower seating, corner tables, a large bar, and an outdoor terrace welcome guests for every type of night.
Camillo, according to Lorenzo Antinori, is the bar’s clumsy yet affable bar mascot who personifies padroni di casa, the hosts of the home. As Lorenzo explains in a press release: “Good bartenders are responsible for the guests’ entertainment, and we build the night to a crescendo through our warmth, our hospitality and the rituals that are part of the Bar Camillo experience.”
