After news broke of Ramenya Shima, Tokyo’s no. 2 ramen shop, opening a location in Hong Kong last year, soup lovers rejoiced, but nothing came of it. Now, the news is official and they’re opening next month in the city!

Carving out a section of Causeway Bay’s Sugar+ building, Ramenya Shima is landing in Hong Kong in March with a soup base made out of nearly 30 ingredients, including aged bonito flakes, kombu, scallops, clams, and Japanese chicken.

During the opening of Ramenya Shima, three signature ramen base flavours will be offered to customers, including a Shoyu (Japanese soy sauce), white Shoyu, and shio (salt) bowls.

Only 60 bowls will be prepared each day, carrying on the same philosophy as the Tokyo ramen shop.

Ramenya Shima has ranked in Tokyo’s top 3 rankings for ramen by Tabelog from 2021 till 2025, including a placing in Tabelog Top 100 Restaurants list during this period.
