Chef Marcello Scognamiglio of Italian restaurant Trattoria Felino will be making the move from Wan Chai to Tai Kwun for two nights later this month to team up with chef Palash Mitra of Indian wonder Prince and the Peacock – both viral Michelin-recommended eateries in their own rights.

On Jan. 28 and 29, diners can delight in the chef duo’s Italian-Indian dinner menu (HKD1,080 pp), an 11-dish experience blending the flavours and techniques of the two widely differing cuisines.

Amongst the selection of sharing starters, the golgappa is a standout, an Italian riff on the popular Indian street food more commonly known as pani puri, in this case stuffed with provola cheese, pesto, and tomato ragù.

The minestra of legumes is another early menu highlight, with the traditional Italian vegetable soup cooked with the warming Indian spices of cardamom and coriander, as is the tandoori lobster tortellini.

It’s the best of both worlds with the meatballs Kashmiri kofta main course, served with a side of homemade poppy-seed focaccia, and chai panna cotta dessert.
