The South African province of the Western Cape is home to breathtaking Table Mountain, Cape Point (where two oceans meet) and, of course, the Cape Winelands. Fortunately, you don’t have to travel far to experience the beauty of South Africa, because Foodie and Wines of South Africa (WOSA) have teamed up to bring you a little taste of South African wine right here in the 852!
Join us as we take a tour of some fantastic Hong Kong restaurants, sampling their finest dishes and pairing them with free-flow South African wine. Our journey will begin in Central and finish off in Causeway Bay. We’re taking care of all transport between the venues, so you can just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!
Here’s a sneak peek of where our trip will take us:
Chilli Fagara, Central
Do you dare sample some of Hong Kong’s finest fiery Sichuan cuisine? Don’t worry – if it’s too hot, we’ll make sure we cool you down with plenty of Bellingham Chenin Blanc and Kanonkop Pinotage (South Africa’s signature cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault).

Mr Wolf, Central
Enjoy some down-to-earth comfort food at this always tasty and friendly gastropub-style spot. We’re pairing the dishes here with Journey’s End Syrah and Chardonnay.

The Coffee Academics, Wan Chai
The Coffee Academics are renowned for their superb coffee but did you know they also serve up a delicious variation of Bobotie – a traditional South African dish? This sweet curry will be served alongside sweet and spicy Korean chicken.

Toripon, Causeway Bay
Toripon (from the PONG Group) serves up traditional Japanese yakitori skewers and will also give us a little something sweet to end off our night of wining and dining. Here, we’ll be sampling La Motte Chardonnay and Leopard’s Leap Pinot Noir.
