Newly Michelin-minted fine-dining French-Japanese restaurant ZEST by Konishi’s nine-course tasting menu ($1,980/person; +$780 for wine pairings) is an indulgent marriage of innovative flavours and textures. Chef Mitsuru Konishi’s dish of akagai (ark-shell clam) with cauliflower and courgette opens the menu of discovery, moving on to dishes including snow crab and aubergine with caviar and pan-seared French baby lamb with parsley foam, finishing with several sweet endings. Freshly baked citrus poppy seed madeleines end the meal on a high.

With its weekend brunch being named one of Foodie’s best meals of 2019, long-standing contemporary Japanese restaurant Zuma is always on our go-to list for impressing the ones we love. The restaurant’s ultimate Valentine’s Day tasting menu ($1,580/person) this year takes a lighter, decidedly more feminine approach, offering dishes like Chilean sea bass with green chilli ginger dressing and Japanese oyster with yuzu and green apple. The showstopper of the whole shebang, however, is Pastry Chef Eddy Lee’s molten raspberry cake with white chocolate, lychee and rose parfait (above).

If you’re not coupled up on the 14th, Zuma is also offering its Yashoku night brunch ($920/person), featuring 2.5 hours of free-flow food, champagne, sake and beer to the backdrop of tunes by the in-house DJ.

Kinship has prepared a knockout eight-course set menu ($1,248 for 2) to wow and woo, starting with a “love potion” cocktail that leads into several courses of deliciousness like brown crab salad, homemade tagliatelle with tomato ragu, baked Norwegian cod, Japanese pork loin, strawberry white chocolate cheesecake and more. They have two sittings (6:30pm and 8:30pm), both of which involve the Kinship Love Quiz, which is designed to discover how well you know your partner, as well as a photo contest with the chance to win a dinner for two.

This restaurant was designed so that you can literally have breakfast at Tiffany, and on Valentine’s Day, dinner at Tiffany sounds like a pretty good way to spoil your other half. The five-course set dinner menu ($1,688 for 2) is actually quite reasonably priced (no precious jewels included), and it includes the super-cute dessert pictured above. It seems to us this Petit Blue Box Cake would be the ideal place to slip a little engagement ring in, perhaps, if the time is right?

Chaiwala sets the mood this Valentine’s day with an extensive 10-course menu ($498/person) that tells a love story in four parts. “Love at First Sight” kicks off the feast with chaats such as pani puri with strawberry-flavoured water and Hokkaido scallop with green apple salsa. “Songs of Love” presents hearty dishes like tawa- grilled chicken breast and Peshawari tiger prawns. “The Love Story” showcases Chaiwala’s signature curries, and the final “Kiss of Love” ends the meal on a sweet note with a panna cotta with strawberry chutney, coconut cream, jaggery petha and a rich chocolate mousse.
