Every restaurant in Hong Kong is having to make difficult decisions during this time, and bar and restaurant The Pawn, named after the building’s former life as a pawnshop dating back to 1888, has decided on a temporary closure despite having no known staff or guest cases of COVID-19.

Their statement from Classified Group said, “In light of the current situation, we have decided to take this time to press pause for the safety and well-being of our staff, customers and community. We would like to take this opportunity to express gratitude to our passionate teams for their hard work in keeping our customers safe and to our community for your continued support, especially during these unprecedented and challenging times. We look forward to welcoming you back when we reopen.”

The Classified restaurants themselves remain open, with vigilant measures for cleanliness in place. They also offer takeaway and delivery.
