The French GourMay festival is dedicated to the world of French gastronomy, and the theme this year is “Bubble Up”, focusing on the French sparkling wines we can’t seem to get enough of. The focus of this new afternoon tea at Alibi at Cordis is the hotel’s signature brand colour – orange – complemented by bites in the same shade. The Dispensary x Paul Lafayet (Sketch Tea Box)

This unique pairing sees Tai Kwun cocktail lounge The Dispensary partnering with renowned French patisserie Paul Lafayet to present a Chinese-Italian afternoon tea set – HK meets France meets Italy! The Sketch Tea Box opens to reveal a range of innovative savoury bites courtesy of The Dispensary’s restaurant neighbours The Chinese Library and Cantina, ranging from crab-roe siu mai and matsutake mushroom bao to gnocco fritto with mortadella and stracchino and salmon and mascarpone sandwich. The limited-time sweets by Paul Lafayet include classic tiramisu, an Amalfi lemon dome, macarons in both black sesame and pistachio flavours and the bakery’s signature mini crème brûlée. The Sketch Tea Box will refresh with new items each month, but it always includes a Tea O’Clock cocktail made with Hennessy cognac, homemade croissant cordial and tea liqueur. Fortnum & Mason (Coronation Afternoon Tea by 181)

Fortnum & Mason’s elegant 181 restaurant is honouring the historic coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla with a specially curated afternoon tea menu inspired by the king’s philosophy of the importance of using seasonal, local ingredients and traditional farming methods. The Coronation Classic Afternoon Tea Top Plate showcases an array of finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream, strawberry preserves and lemon curd and dainty seasonal sweet bites like Earl Grey mousse with bergamot jelly, rose eclair and dark chocolate and raspberry cup – plus a slice of mixed berry cake with vanilla or honey, orange and camomile cream cake. The British-influenced delicacies are paired with the limited-edition Coronation Darjeeling Tea with its beautiful fragrance and rich flavour.

From 29 April, 181’s first all-savoury afternoon tea – the Coronation Savoury Top Plate – will be another teatime option, this time featuring takes on King Charles’ favourite savoury dishes, from coronation lobster with charcoal tuile, to Kettyle lamb Scotch egg with wild herb aioli, to Devonshire crab tartlet with pickled daikon.

This Japanese-inspired afternoon tea at The Farmhouse is a collab with home-grown Japanese bakery Luna Cake, specialising in Hokkaido cheesecake. The live stations are always a highlight here, this time including made-to-order, all-you-can-eat dorayaki (Japanese pancakes filled with red bean and custard), taiyaki (fish-shaped Japanese pastries filled with custard) and Japanese soufflé pancakes, as well as a fantastic ice-cream bar. Foodie and , Hong KongAt New World Millennium, the newly unveiled afternoon tea experience looks to be a sumptuous delight. On the sweet side, fruity highlights include strawberry-chocolate tart, raspberry-lemon-pistachio cake and a mousse of fig and passion fruit, while abalone tartlet, Alaskan crabmeat and avocado bavarois with smoked herring roe and golden foie gras nougat with hazelnut and onion jam are just a few of the tempting savoury contenders. At the weekend, additional premium items are included to really gild the lily – think Wagyu beef and kimchi roll, Japanese-style seafood burger and baked conch and abalone with Portuguese sauce.

Celebrating its incredible 95th anniversary this year, The Peninsula is joining forces with another HK icon – the Star Ferry, this year celebrating 125 years of service – to offer a special limited-time afternoon tea service aboard the lavishly outfitted Star Ferry dubbed World Star. Newly opened Regent Hong Kong has entered the afternoon tea scene with a bang with its scrumptious teatime offerings at The Lobby Lounge – not to mention those breathtaking views… Executive Pastry Chef Andy Yeung has designed a classic, seasonally updated afternoon tea set that features a three-tiered selection of homemade finger sandwiches, mini versions of his glorious cakes, scones and madeleines, accompanied by clotted cream and a very unique rosemary-quince jam.
