Indonesian-born beauty and fashion influencer Spoon Chan grew up in Hong Kong, a city to which she owes a great deal. Becoming familiar with the local Cantonese flavours of the city’s dining scene, Spoon saw her late father run a dried seafood business and her mother operate an Indonesian restaurant.

In early 2023, Spoon founded Rumah, a modern Indonesian pantry sharing the flavours of her home nation. Her first product launch in April 2023 was the popular Indonesian dessert kue lapis, a bouncy coconut and pandan rice-flour cake that instantly sold out online. 

Spoon joins Foodie magazine to share her journey on creating food products that expose the great taste of her native Indonesia to Hong Kong.
