Queen Street Cooked Food Market in Sheung Wan is set for a six-month renovation to beautify its premises from Feb. 2024 till late Aug. 2024, as confirmed by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD), Chautari Restaurant, and ABC Kitchen.

Rumours floating in the food scene appear to be true as the owner of Chautari confirmed that the last day to enjoy a meal at the Indian-Nepali restaurant will be Sunday, Feb. 18. Fans of the eatery can head to Kennedy Town to dine at The Clay Oven Indian Restaurant, operated by the same group.

A phone call to ABC Kitchen leads to an automated message detailing the reopening of the French bistro from late August.

Other restaurants at Queen Street Cooked Food Market, such as dessert shop Tsang Kee, fusion Thai & Vietnam Cuisine, and local Canto eatery Chan Choi Kee, will also close temporarily during the renovation.

It’s not known which restaurants will return after the six-month renovation and how the revamped Sheung Wan cooked food market will look. Watch this space for more information.
