As dining and drinking prices skyrocket in Hong Kong, we’re constantly on the lookout for good deals, especially at lunchtime.

If you live or work in Causeway Bay (bonus if you’re a fan of the Transformers franchise), take a peek at mega-restaurant Transformers The ARK, located just opposite Times Square with an attached shop selling merch.

In addition to burger buns printed with the Optimus Prime logo and spaceship-shaped French fry containers, diners can get cutthroat lunch deals at the eatery, with prices starting at HKD40. The East-meets-West lunch dishes run the gamut from Hong Kong-style baked chicken rice with tomato sauce, to chicken pizza, to crispy chicken bites with sea-salt fries.

On the side, there’s a choice of a soft drink, soup (minestrone or cream of mushroom), or soft-serve ice cream (chocolate, blue Energon sea salt, or Cyber Twist).

If you’re feeling flush, you can upgrade your drink (+HKD25) to one of The ARK’s colourful iced tea or soda options, including Black Hole lemon tea, Defender milk tea, and Starlight pineapple soda.

The two-storey fast-food restaurant’s rent has been noted at a cool HKD1 million per month, so we’re not sure how these lunch deals are helping to keep The ARK afloat. No matter, we’re pleased that we can save a few dollars come lunchtime.
