Tokyo’s famous cheesecake speciality shop cafe THE SUN LIVES HERE is branching out to Hong Kong with the city’s first store at K11 MUSEA, opening officially on Nov. 14.

Founded in the small neighbourhood of Sangenjaya, southwest of Shibuya in Tokyo, the café has become well known for its creative twists on cheesy and chocolatey desserts.

The brand’s “drinkable” tiramisu, set to feature at the Hong Kong store, uses mascarpone and cream cheese from Hokkaido to craft the Italian dessert and is served on a bed of milk. The cheesecake cookie sandwich has become a viral hit online, beloved for its rich, fluffy, creamy texture.

The K11 MUSEA shop will also stock “chilk,” a three-layer bottled cheesecake made from two layers of cheesecake and a topping of rare cheese.

Eager Japanophiles and dessert lovers can venture to the Hong Kong shop today during its soft-opening period to enjoy the cheesecakes and matcha and coffee drinks.
